Seesaw Opticians commissioned a bespoke Christmas window display based on the Nativity, drawing on Orthodox Christian iconography and incorporating Greek text across four large shop windows. The project involved developing the concept, creating the illustrations and preparing the final artwork for production and installation.
Project details
The display needed to feel distinctive and contemporary while remaining respectful of the traditional religious imagery that inspired it. Working across four separate windows meant the composition had to function both as a complete scene and as individual panels, taking the physical divisions of the shopfront into account.
The Orthodox iconography was redrawn and reinterpreted for the installation, creating a consistent visual style across the full display. Transparent and opaque vinyl balanced colour and visual impact with natural light and visibility into the shop.
The finished installation received positive feedback from the client, customers and passers-by.
